BONTERRA ORGANIC ESTATES LAUNCHES THE ESTATE COLLECTION, A NEW TIER OF REGENERATIVE ORGANIC CERTIFIED® WINES

New Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon represent Bonterra’s many decades of pioneering leadership in regenerative organic viticulture, and shine a spotlight on Mendocino County.

HOPLAND, Calif., Jan. 25, 2023 – Bonterra Organic Estates today announced the launch of the Bonterra Estate Collection, a new tier of Regenerative Organic Certified® wines. These wines are among the first Regenerative Organic Certified wines available globally, and the very first coming from Mendocino County. The Estate Collection is the pinnacle of Bonterra’s many decades of pioneering leadership in regenerative organic viticulture, representing the breadth and quality of Bonterra’s estate vineyards and the unspoiled wildlands of the Mendocino, California area.

The Bonterra Estate Collection is the first tier of Regenerative Organic Certified (ROC) wines produced by the winery, which achieved the rigorous certification at the silver level in late 2021 for all of its Mendocino County, California vineyard holdings and winery. The ROC label assures shoppers certified farms and its products meet the highest sustainability standards environmentally, ethically and socially, as set forth by the Regenerative Organic Alliance. These new Estate Collection wines are poised to meet strong consumer demand for products that are grown and made with transparent and verified responsible practices.

Comprised of a 2021 Chardonnay and a 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon, the Bonterra Estate Collection wines join a small, esteemed group of Regenerative Organic Certified wines currently available. The Estate Collection launch is the latest milestone in Bonterra’s journey as a pioneering leader in regenerative organic farming and responsible business practices. Since its first organic vineyards were planted in the late 1980s, Bonterra Organic Estates has demonstrated it is possible to farm using regenerative organic practices–which include sheep grazing, cover cropping, applying compost, and more–at scale.

In addition to its regenerative organic credentials, Bonterra proudly carries Climate Neutral Certification, and was the first to craft nationally available, organically grown Climate Neutral Certified wine.
