Margaret Leonardi-Pruett

Margaret Leonardi-Pruett is a Senior Winemaker at Bonterra Organic Estates, where she brings her technical expertise and meticulous approach to crafting a core portfolio of organically farmed wines. Since joining Bonterra in 2015, Margaret has contributed to the winery’s leadership in organic viticulture, reinforcing its 30+ year legacy of consumer favorites. Previously, she served as a winemaker for Fetzer and 1000 Stories, and at Bronco Wine Company, where she introduced organic labels like Green Fin. Raised on an organic dairy farm in Humboldt County, California, Margaret developed a deep appreciation for organic agriculture, and she loves the unifying power of wine. She holds a degree in Agribusiness with a focus on Marketing and Wine & Viticulture from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.

Joseph Brinkley

As Senior Director of Regenerative Organic Farming at Bonterra Organic Estates, Joseph Brinkley oversees all 850 acres of our Regenerative Organic Certified® vineyards in Mendocino County. With a background in economics from Virginia Commonwealth University, Joseph shifted his career focus to sustainable agriculture to align with his passions, earning a degree in Horticulture from Virginia Tech. Since joining Bonterra in 2013, he has been instrumental in driving our winery’s impact leadership through his deep knowledge of regenerative organic farming. Joseph’s career has included training at the Josephine Porter Institute, a certificate in Holistic Management from the Savory Institute, and roles at celebrated wineries including Grgich Hills, Spottswoode Estate, and Roederer Estate. Beyond his work at Bonterra, he shapes policy on climate-smart farming, advocates for healthy soils legislation, and chairs the Organic Trade Alliance’s Wine and Sustainability Councils.
