93 Points | Wine Enthusiast

This beautiful red blend pleases the eye with a brilliant, deep garnet color. Layered aromas of spice, black cherry, and black currant set the stage for a fruit-forward sip, with pleasant notes of spice and pepper. Full-bodied with ripe tannins, our Estate Red Blend will continue to evolve for up to five years of additional cellaring.

46% Petite Syrah; 41% Malbec; 13% Zinfandel

With it's deep garnet hue and glints of violet, the Estate Red Blend is darker in the glass than our Pinot Noir.

Ripe tannins and a decadent palate of black cherry and black currant make this wine richer than our Merlot.

Well-structured with a great depth of character, this wine has more tannins than our Cabernet Sauvignon.

Our Red Blend isn't shy in the glass, and it will age well for another 5 years. This wine is bolder than our Zinfandel.

The fruit for this red blend was harvested by hand at the peak of ripeness between late September and October, earlier than in past years. The grapes were then destemmed and pressed. After a warm fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine underwent malolactic fermentation to soften the mouthfeel. It was then aged for 6 months in 100 percent French oak, 40% of it new, lending complex barrel notes to the finished wine and creating a medium toast level.

“Full of flavor and fun with a notably animale edge, this smells and tastes much more like an Old-World wine than one from California. Comprised of 46% Petite Sirah, 41% Malbec, and 13% Zinfandel, it is intensely aromatic and very deep in flavor, with a fully-ripe and decidedly brambly character along with mildly assertive yeasty, earthy accents. Well suited to braised meats like lamb shanks, grilled veggies, or garlicky lamb shoulder. 91 Points
